Amidst a shower of apricot blossoms - intoxicating!
Wanderer when will you return?
When you return we’ll watch the swallows flittering in the southern skies,
nestling and snuggling.
By each eye, a drop of azure pearl,
facing the spring breeze brushing away the tears of pear blossoms.
If only … together now and forever.
Refreshing night’s rain ringing like bells against the door.
A small candlelight burning from dawn to dusk,
uniting and parting, turning into dust.
Hundreds of rivers, take only one ladle of water,
moon reflected in the water like a brow.
Eyebrows like willow wisps drooping by the babbling brook.
A blossom’s heart hides an aromatic pistil, for whom does it smell so sweet?
Who can sincerely gift their orchid, unrivaled in fragrance.
Dropping into the red pond, scattering,
flowers like pearls and jade on luxuriant silk unfurling, chasing fish’s tails.
If only … longing to be with you.
Brindled¹ bamboo moist with dew, lacing shirtsleeves.
A veil of rain taking a spring stroll² on the willow.
A white heron in the lake’s heart sending off a boat.
A drum beating, marking time, serenely.
Living by the sword, following the eastern spring wind;
Worthy of this balmy scene, tender bloom of glittering jewels.
Sword and robes entwined with a jade pendant,
a maelstrom of wind and rain,
whipping the head, no regrets.
These feelings will not give in to the water’s ebb and flow.
Moon reflected in the water like a brow.
Eyebrows like willow wisps drooping by the babbling brook.
Amidst a shower of apricot blossoms - intoxicating!
The wanderer returns from afar.
A pair of swallows on the roof beam deep in sleep,
inseparably entangled in loving embrace.
The lotus leaf covers a red bud.
Adjoining fruit, two trees grow together as one,
Keeping guard year after year, throughout the ages.
If only … to interlock branches … to place my hand in yours …
