回汤豆腐干

俗语。喻重新回到远处或重操旧业。电影《舞台姐妹》:“我还是不想唱,回汤豆腐干难为情。”旧上海有一种专售茶叶蛋、豆腐干的街头小贩,他们将当天没卖完的豆腐干取出凉干,次日再放入锅内重煮出售,称回汤豆腐干。
Súyǔ. Yù chóngxīn huí dào yuǎn chù huò chóng cāo jiùyè. Diànyǐng “wǔtái jiěmèi”:“Wǒ háishì bùxiǎng chàng, huí tāng dòufu gān nánwéiqíng.” Jiù shànghǎi yǒuyī zhǒng zhuān shòu cháyè dàn, dòufu gān de jiētóu xiǎofàn, tāmen jiāng dàngtiān méi mài wán de dòufu gān qǔchū liáng gàn, cì rì zài fàng rù guō nèi zhòng zhǔ chūshòu, chēng huí tāng dòufu gān.
(Colloquialism) An analogy to indicate returning to a far away place or resuming a previous profession. In the film Stage Sisters, "Still, I'd rather not sing. It's too embarrassing to be dried tofu tossed back into the soup." In old Shanghai there were street vendors who specialized in selling tea eggs and dried tofu. At the end of the day, the remaining unsold dried tofu were taken out to dry, the next day the left over tofu will be boiled again and resold as "recycled soup dried tofu".
